Instruction

CD-Ref instruction is provided under the direction of United States Soccer Federation and Eastern New York Referee Association in accordance with rules, directive and interpretation of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

CD-Ref instruction is overseen by Mr. Michael Rennick, State Instructor and is supported by State Instructor Roger Monthie and Associated Instructors Ron Gecsedi

The instructor team is committed to ensuring all referees are provided with training to improve their skills maintain and awareness of new directives.

Assessment/Evaluation

CD-Ref assessment/evaluation is provided under the direction of United States Soccer Federation and Eastern New York Referee Association in accordance with rules, directive and interpretation of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

CD-Ref assessment/evaluation is overseen by Mr. Michael Rennick, State Assessor and is supported by State Assessors Roger Monthie and Yevgeniy (Eugene) Mednikov

CD-Ref is honored to have National Assessor Sharon Wheeler as a member of the association. Ms. Wheeler is an Emeritus National Referee who has been an assistant refereed at the national and international level. Ms. Wheeler brings a high level of knowledge, experience and professionalism to refereeing in the Capital Regional.

Assessments and/or evaluations are required for all referees grade 5, 6 and 7 annually. Games should be at an under 19 level or higher.

The Assessment and Evaluation program is an important part of improving the effectiveness of referees. It provides real game feedback and ensures that the referee is meeting the expectations and requirements of USSF.

Grade 8, 7, 6 referees who meet the requirements set forth in the USSF administrative guidelines and want upgrade should contact Mr. Rennick at assessor.cdref@gmail.com or mrennic1@nycap.rr.com.


Mentoring

CD-Ref has organized a mentoring program for all new referees.

This extremely important program is designed to support new referees by providing trained experiences referees to ensure the new referee is successful and enjoying the referee experience.

The mentoring program is under the direction of Mr. Michael Rennick and and coordination of Mr. Paul Bascomb.
